New York State ITS Training Services is pleased to announce the 2012 Empire Knowledgebank program has begun. The Empire Knowledgebank program is an enhanced e-learning tool providing a convenient and cost-effective way for NYS employees to continue training and education right from their desktop.
Each basic e-learning license provides its user with 24x7 access to over 3,000 courses in information technology, business and professional development and desktop software from January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2012.
We encourage all state government entities to take advantage of this purchase. As in past years, pricing is based on aggregate totals. The more we buy—the lower the price!
ITS has four computer training rooms available at no charge to NYS and local government entities. Four classrooms are located in Albany on floor 3B of Core 4 in the Swan Street building of the Empire State Plaza.
Another classroom is located in Albany on floor 1B of the Core 4 in the Swan Street building. This classroom is intended for presentations of up to 50 people and can be configured in various styles to best suite your meeting needs.

eLearnNY is an e-learning authoring tool created by ITS. It allows NY government organizations to create, customize, and share online courses.
This service is available to New York State and local government organizations.
No need to know HTML to create online courses- Basic text editors are available for formatting.
Authentication- Organizations can choose to use NYS Directory Services for authentication, or not. Either way, user data is tracked in the application for easy reporting.
Glossary- Terms entered into the glossary will appear automatically at the bottom of the pages which include those terms, and the definition can pop up without navigating off the page.
Quiz Builder- Create your own quizzes, keep track of the scores to report later- you can even create a final exam!
Custom Welcome Pages- Include your own message and billboard graphic.
Table of Contents- Allow users and administrators to print out course outlines as a handout, as well as see each module/page and navigate to any part of the course.
Reporting- You can report on users in your organization who take your custom course, if they completed the course and quiz/exam scores.
Clone and Customize Courses- Organizations can "share" custom courses to allow other organizations to customize the content for their own needs.
